We are seeking an Operations Supervisor with strong leadership skills to join our Burnie, Chip Mill on a permanent, full-time basis. In this newly created role, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day management of the site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure seamless operational performance, by overseeing the quality, production, storage and distribution of our product. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Providing strong leadership to the production & maintenance teams as well as overseeing external contractors. Fostering high performance and effective engagement of the team whilst ensuring tasks are performed in line with the business’ safety standards. Manage the team in terms of communication, training & coaching, expectation setting, promoting continuous improvement and the management of work rosters. Take charge of Planned Maintenance schedules and spare parts management and work with Operations Manager to complete key services throughout the year to meet or exceed KPI’s. Drive a strong safety culture by promoting hazard identification and risk control within site Ensure chip production, storage and transport requirements are met and any issues are dealt with in a timely manner. About You: To be considered for this challenging and exciting position, you will need to demonstrate the following: Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or forestry environment. Strong operational, financial, and people management skills. Trade-related qualifications and a mechanical background are highly desirable. Knowledge of safety management systems, compliance, and audit processes. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
