About the role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator / Contracts & Procurement Officer to support the day-to-day management of concentrate shipping, contracts administration and procurement activities. Reporting to the Manager – Contracts, Procurement and Logistics, this role is based at Burnie and plays a key role in ensuring shipping schedules, contractual obligations and procurement processes are managed accurately, compliantly and efficiently. This position works closely with Joint Venture Partners, freight providers, internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of concentrate, effective contract administration and value-driven commercial outcomes aligned with business standards. The roster will be 5 days on 2 days off with the option of an IFA (5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off) located at our Burnie office reporting to the Manager – Contracts, Procurement and Logistics. Core responsibilities Coordinate the day-to-day concentrate shipping activities, including scheduling, forecasting and maintaining forward shipping bookings Prepare and distribute weekly shipping reports to Joint Venture Partners and internal stakeholders Manage shipping documentation, records and secure filing in line with governance requirements Coordinate freight charges, prepare requisitions and manage the recharge of freight costs to Joint Venture Partners Respond to shipping-related queries and resolve issues with freight advisors, customs agents and transport providers Support contracts administration activities, including drafting and reviewing scopes of work and contractual documentation Assist with tender preparation, release, evaluation and award processes Maintain accurate contract registers, insurance certificates and compliance documentation Support contract negotiations, variations, renewals and close-out activities Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure contractual and procurement obligations are met Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with legislative, safety, policy and governance requirements Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across shipping, contracts and procurement processes About you You are a highly organised individual with experience in shipping coordination, contracts administration, procurement or a similar commercial role, ideally within mining, resources or heavy industry. You have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities and confidence working with documentation, schedules and financial data. You communicate clearly and professionally, can build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and take a proactive, solutions-focused approach to your work. You operate with integrity, respect confidentiality and contribute positively to a continuous improvement culture. A current driver’s licence is required, and a national criminal police check will be required for this role.
