Who is M2P? M2P are a market-leading construction, engineering and fabrication service provider specialising in heavy industrial Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) projects across Australia. A few quick notes about what we do: To date, our key achievements include major SMP construction projects at remote mine sites, both surface and underground, and industrial facilities in our key operating centres. Scopes we have successfully completed include crushing and conveying systems, mineral processing facilities, ventilation, refrigeration and associated infrastructure. We have recently expanded our service offering to include Energy, Oil and Gas projects. M2P have a number of strategically placed workshops across the country where we fabricate heavy industrial pipework, platework and structural steel. We also design & manufacture our own patented specialised inflatable products, which are used in a number of innovative industrial safety, ventilation & production applications. We've built all of this with determination, plenty of hard work and a little bit of luck, in the short space of time, since M2P was established in 2017 by our MD, Adam (although, there is still much more ahead of us that we'd like you to be a part of). Your Opportunity Position: Payroll and HR Support Officer Company: M2P Location: Teneriffe, Brisbane (Some WFH available after initial training period ~3 months) Pay: $80,000 base salary plus superannuation (negotiable depending on skills and experience) Employment Type: Full Time | Permanent Want to know more about what could be your new role? The purpose: As we move toward 2026, we are evolving our People & Culture team to better support our growing business. Reporting to the Group Manager of People & Culture, this is a foundational role within our team. Initially, your time will be focused on HR Administration (approx. 75%), supporting our major Employment Hero (EH) HRIS implementation and managing employee lifecycle documentation. As the system matures, your focus will shift further into Payroll (approx. 50%), providing critical backup to our Senior Payroll Officer for our weekly pay runs. The Office: Our offices are located in beautiful Teneriffe, close to plenty of great restaurants, cafes and bars with free parking available in nearby streets. Some of the things you can expect to learn and undertake when you join the team as the Payroll and HR Support Officer include: Payroll & Compliance: Using your previous experience with and exposure to payroll processes, work closely with a Senior Payroll Officer and gain practical experience supporting payroll activities for a large and diverse FIFO workforce with more than 600 employees across Australia, building confidence in how payroll works in a real, operational environment. HRIS Implementation: Assist with business improvement projects, including supporting the implementation of Employment Hero HRIS through the first quarter of 2026, assisting with data entry, cleansing, and the design of automated workflows. This system will be pivotal for the People & Culture team and the way we work. Employee Lifecycle Management: Coordinate the administrative side of employment contracts, transfers, demobilisations, variations, and remuneration changes, including data entry, word processing, communication and tracking. Data Integrity: Audit timesheet and leave data from our ERP (IFS Cloud) to ensure accuracy and completeness before Payroll processing is undertaken in Employment Hero Payroll platform. Governance Support: Manage the tracking and conversion of Casual and Fixed Term contracts, payroll tax, superannuation and portable long service leave administration, reporting. There are some important skills and experience that, if you have, we believe will support you in succeeding in this role. We require a candidate who balances a strong process focus with the agility to manage the rapid changes typical of our industry. Technical Skills: Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills are essential for auditing data and generating reports. You will utilise your superior administrative skills, particularly using Microsoft Office, to manage your time and priorities, along with translating ideas into documents that are well-designed and well-written. Experience: Prior demonstrated experience in a Payroll Support and or HR Admin role, with exposure to payroll systems and the ability to read and interpret Enterprise Agreements (EA) or Awards. Having had experience in a similar industry or FIFO workforces is an advantage. Adaptability: A calm, level-headed approach to high-volume periods, such as large-scale project mobilisations or system transitions. Systems Knowledge: Prior experience with Employment Hero is highly regarded; however, the ability to quickly master new software is a must.
