Work Health and Safety ( WHS ) advisor position working with a government-owned organisation in the Electrical sector in Darwin. The organisation is highly reputable and offers excellent pay. This is a short term contract starting ASAP until February. There may be longer-term options in the future. The role: You will play a key role in promoting a positive Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) culture by leading initiatives that create a safe and healthy work environment. The role involves monitoring and assessing WHS performance, supporting managers with hazard control, investigations, and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance through policies, procedures, and audits. You will also deliver training, provide clear reporting, and drive continuous improvement to reduce risks, incidents, and injuries across the workplace. Ideal experience: Experience delivering WHS services in line with legislation and best practice. Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and commitment to safe behaviours. Skilled in developing and implementing WHS or environmental systems. Good communication and negotiation skills, able to work with diverse groups. Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement. Current NT Driver's Licence (or equivalent). Commitment to organisational safety, environmental and quality standards. Desirable Experience delivering workplace training and/or Cert IV in Training & Assessment. Tertiary qualifications in WHS or related field.
