Job Description About the Role As Fire & HVAC Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational integrity and reliability of Sydney Airport’s Fire and HVAC infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance services across a diverse range of assets, directly supporting the airport’s commitment to exceptional facilities presentation and customer service. Your expertise will help maintain high uptime and seamless operations for airlines, passengers, and stakeholders. This is a critical position within the Assets & Technical Contracts – Facilities team, where your leadership and technical knowledge will influence both day-to-day operations and long-term asset performance. By collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you’ll drive continuous improvement, uphold safety standards, and contribute to a safe, secure, and world-class airport experience for millions of travellers each year. Key Responsibilities Lead the Asset Management Plan for Fire and HVAC assets, including preventative and corrective maintenance. Maintain an accurate asset register and replacement schedule for Fire and HVAC systems. Oversee maintenance contract deliverables, including KPIs, commercial obligations, insurance, and documentation. Facilitate contract meetings, safety investigations, and ensure compliance with operational and safety standards. Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and process invoices in line with policies. Collaborate with project teams to influence design and ensure operational outcomes. Provide technical advice and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. About You Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related discipline (required). NSW Driver’s License (required). Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fire, HVAC, or a closely related field, and contract management. Experience supervising contracted labour and leading teams. Proficient in SCADA and BMS platforms (desirable). Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on safety, innovation, and customer service.
