P urpose of the Role BGIS is seeking a Property Accountant to manage financial activities across a newly acquired government services property portfolio. You will work closely with Property and Facilities teams to provide accurate financial insights, ensure compliance, and support effective property decision-making. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and enjoys improving financial processes while supporting teams to achieve their goals. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and reconcile lease-related financial entries including rent, outgoings, and incentives - Ensure alignment with lease terms, financial schedules, and accounting standards - Maintain accurate property and asset cost records across the portfolio - Provide property cost visibility and reporting for internal stakeholders - Support outgoings reconciliations and landlord invoice validation - Collaborate with Property and Facilities teams to interpret financial impacts - Maintain property financial datasets in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric - Develop Power Automate flows to streamline approvals and data capture - Ensure financial data integrity in property management systems - Provide clear financial insights to support property decisions Education, Experience & Skills Essential - Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce - Experience in property accounting, lease accounting, or real estate finance - Strong understanding of lease structures, outgoings, rent reviews, and property cost allocation - High proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and digital financial tools - Collaborative and supportive approach with strong communication skills Desirable - Experience with Facilities Management or government property portfolios - Experience improving financial workflows and reporting processes Workplace Flexibility Based at our Melbourne CBD office - close to public transport. After probation/training, the role transitions to a hybrid arrangement: 2 days WFH, 3 days office with flexibility around start/finish times within Core Business Hours.
