Description As an IP Solution Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping Nokia's network infrastructure by designing, analysing, and optimising IP networks to enhance customer communication capabilities. You will lead the development of end-to-end (E2E) architectures and designs, ensuring they meet specifications, time-to-market, and quality constraints. This role involves contributing to the architecture, technical Scope of Work (SOW), and solution description for customer projects, from initial offer through to final solution delivery and acceptance, while also driving capacity planning, feasibility studies, and innovative routing solutions. You will be part of the Customer Engineering team, participating in project activities to support the delivery of IP professional services to Nokia’s customer base, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Nokia's IP products and technologies. Customers, Project Managers, Technical Project Managers, Product Line Managers, Business Development, and 3rd party suppliers. Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Design: Lead the development of E2E IP Architecture and Solution Descriptions for offer submissions and project execution, including integration and dependencies with the overall solution. Design and analyze complex, customer-specific network configurations in specialized domains, determining physical and logical solution architectures. Conduct end-to-end network architecture design, including capacity planning, feasibility studies, and impact assessments, while analyzing and evaluating alternative solutions and defining subsystems and system elements. Specify and design effective E2E solutions, through high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) design, to meet customer needs with a market positioning perspective. Apply solution architecture standards, processes, and principles to create and maintain a solution's integrity over time, including verification that the solution meets client requirements. Requirements Management & Technical Decision Making: Establish agreed contractual System Requirements and lead System/Solution Requirements Development. Capture and manage functional and non-functional requirements using industry best practices. Understand and capture critical inputs from stakeholders, translating them into effective requirements and solutions. Identify key Use Cases and acceptance criteria, deriving product and solution requirements in line with the SOW and solution description. Perform requirements designation, importance, verifiability, and risk analysis. Provide key inputs for and be accountable for technical decisions related to system requirements and system architecture/design. Maintain traceability between requirement sets (Customer, System, Subsystems, System Elements) to architecture and design documents, and support traceability to verification activities. Project Execution & Risk Management: Support High-Level Design (HLD) across multiple technology domains and review HLD/LLD/Interface Specifications. Perform Use Case Analysis, scenario determination, and develop sequence diagrams to support requirements analysis, architecture, and high-level design activities. Proactively identify and address technical risks, conducting risk assessments with Project/Technical Project Managers (PM/TPM) on the project and all suppliers, identifying and executing mitigation strategies, and escalating as appropriate. Support the Project Review process with Project Management Groups and set up corrective action and risk mitigation plans for technical issues. Assist with the technical delivery of the end-to-end project, from design implementation to acceptance. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and identify/coordinate cross-Business Group (BG) activities for initial solution development, ensuring integration of network solutions and adherence to performance standards. Engage directly with customers to advise on network architecture and complex use cases, influencing strategic decisions. Develop the full scope of the solution, working across organizations to achieve workable solutions. Provide technical support, manage, and review 3rd party suppliers and vendors, ensuring all parties clearly understand their technical scope/objectives and assessing their technical progress. Review roadmap alignment with the solution to be implemented, engaging with Product Line Management (PLM). Documentation & Quality Assurance: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including Solution Architecture and Description, Technical Scope of Work, TSD, HLD, LLD, Test Sheets, and process standards. Be accountable for the technical accuracy of the design solution (as defined in SA&HLD etc.) and the resulting implementation. Be accountable for providing the customer with a variety of test strategies, test plans, job aids, and other supporting collateral. Leadership & Expertise: Contribute to strategic decisions within the professional area and to the development of concepts determining the professional direction of the organizational unit. Solve complex problems based on sophisticated analytical thought and complex judgment. Act as a professional leader for staff/workteams/taskforces, serving as a best practice resource and recognized expert within the professional area. Lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity, including resource management and allocation of work. Oversee and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment aimed at achieving project goals and professional growth.
