They manage a diverse portfolio including generation assets, renewable portfolios (wind and solar), battery storage systems, and actively trade across day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets. The business operates 24/7 trading operations requiring shift-based coverage to manage real-time market positions, optimise asset dispatch, and capture short-term trading opportunities across European power markets. They require experienced traders who can operate independently during shift hours whilst managing commercial and operational responsibilities. They are seeking a Shift Trader - Power to execute real-time trading strategies, optimise portfolio positions, and manage asset dispatch across 24-hour operations. This role requires working outside normal office hours including weekends and bank holidays as part of a rotating shift team. The Role As Shift Trader - Power, you will execute short-term power trades, optimise generation and storage assets, and manage portfolio positions during assigned shift periods. This role requires strong decision-making capability under pressure, deep understanding of European power markets, and the ability to respond rapidly to changing market conditions. You will actively trade day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets, coordinate asset dispatch with operations teams, and utilise automated trading systems where appropriate. Working as part of a 24/7 shift team, you will take ownership of P&L outcomes, risk management, and operational compliance during your shifts. This is a hands-on trading role requiring both commercial acumen and operational capability, with responsibility for maximising portfolio value through informed risk-taking and real-time optimisation.
