Site and Service: Whyalla Hospital Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising of 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital’s Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia. It includes six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care and counselling services, reducing the need to travel outside of the region for care. It is also, one of three stroke services in regional SA, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24/7, supported by metropolitan stroke units. The Registered Nurse (RN/M1) role is ideal for nurses who are developing from novice to proficient practitioners. While nurses at this level are still refining their expertise, they are entrusted with accountability for their own standards of care and activities delegated to others. The role emphasizes the importance of building clinical competence while supporting team collaboration and patient-centered care. This position offers a supportive environment where nurses can grow their capabilities and progress toward higher levels of practice and leadership within the nursing profession. About You: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. RN/M2C Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience. Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses. RN/M1 Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
