Byron Shire Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic Traffic and Transport Engineer . The position plays a key role in delivering a high level of technical services to plan, design and implement the traffic, transport and parking network as part of the Works Team and the Infrastructure Services Directorate. The position also coordinates and provide technical support for the functions of the Local Traffic Forum in accordance with TfNSW guidelines. Some specific tasks include: Developing traffic, transport (including active transport) and car parking strategies and plans that aim to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and goods throughout the Shire. Managing and implementing paid and unpaid parking schemes throughout the Shire. Management of contracts for pay parking system, meters and cash collection. Coordinating and providing expert traffic and transport advice to multidisciplinary teams and relevant Council Advisory Committees. Providing technical and administrative support to the Byron Shire Local Traffic Forum. The successful candidate will meet the criteria set out in the Position Description below.
