We have a temporary Senior Inspector position available for six months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. The inspectorate is responsible for providing compliance and enforcement services across workplaces in the ACT and Jervis Bay Territory. So…. why choose us? Depending on your skills, background and experience, you could find yourself working in one of the following areas: Civil, Residential and Commercial Construction General (retail, hospitality, education, health sectors etc) Psychosocial Labour Hire Licensing Vulnerable Workers Investigations, and Occupational Hygiene We achieve our objectives through a combination of compliance and enforcement, awareness raising, education, inspection, and investigation activities. We are responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance by duty holders in accordance with the WHS Act and Regulation and associated legislation for Dangerous Substances, Workers' Compensation and Labour Hire Licensing. Eligibility/Other requirements: Ability to perform the functions of an authorised Inspector in accordance with all relevant legislation, including completion of required mandatory training for Workers’ Compensation legislation as a delegated/appointed person/Authorised officer by the WHS Commissioner. Current unrestricted driver’s licence. Willingness to: participate in an after-hours on-call and telephone roster when required. wear a uniform. participate in programmed after hours compliance activities when required. undergo a pre-employment police check. undergo baseline health monitoring. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
