WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Commissioner. WorkSafe ACT achieves its objectives through a combination of compliance and enforcement, awareness raising, education, inspection, and investigation. It is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance by duty holders in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and associated legislation for Workers' Compensation and Labour Hire Licensing. The WorkSafe ACT Investigations Team is growing, and we have a permanent Senior Investigator position available that would suit an individual with a background or focus on regulatory compliance and investigations as well as work health and safety from within various industry sectors. Eligibility/Other requirements: Ability to perform the functions of an authorised Inspector in accordance with all relevant legislation, including completion of required mandatory training for Workers’ Compensation legislation as a delegated/appointed person/Authorised officer by the WHS Commissioner. Diploma of Government (Investigations) or ability to complete within 12 months of commencement if required, or relevant qualifications or experience. Current unrestricted driver’s licence. Willingness to: Participates in an afterhours on-call and telephone roster when required Wears a uniform Participates in programmed after hours compliance activities when required, and Undergoes a pre-employment police check. Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on referee reports and written application only.
