About the company: The company is a locally owned and operated, licensed electrical contractor with over a decade of industry expertise—specializing in market-leading solar energy solutions and comprehensive commercial & residential electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services. We deliver fully customized, fit-for-purpose energy solutions of the highest quality, from design to installation by our trained professionals, complemented by an outstanding post-purchase experience. Our team is driven by a passion for helping clients across NSW, ACT, and the Sunshine Coast achieve their sustainability goals, leveraging top-tier products and end-to-end project oversight to ensure seamless, reliable outcomes. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technologist to join our dynamic team, acting as a critical link between engineering design and on-site execution for solar, energy storage, and EV charging projects. You will leverage technical expertise to optimize mechanical structures, streamline installation processes, and resolve on-site technical challenges, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance. Key responsibilities: Optimize mechanical structures for solar, energy storage, and EV charging systems, including solar rack load-bearing frameworks, battery cabinet fixation solutions, and EV charger mounting bases, to ensure stability under extreme environmental conditions. Conduct structural simulation analyses to evaluate stress and strain on installation components, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks of structural failure during project operation. Design customized auxiliary fixtures and tools, such as solar panel positioning jigs and battery cabinet wiring support racks, to improve on-site installation accuracy and reduce operational errors. Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to develop integrated mechanical-electrical solutions, resolving interface incompatibility issues and optimizing wiring space for solar-storage hybrid systems. Participate in technical validation of new solar panels, energy storage batteries, and EV charging equipment, assessing installation feasibility from a mechanical perspective and compiling detailed evaluation reports. Compile and update technical documentation, including equipment installation manuals, fixture operation guidelines, and mechanical structure maintenance handbooks, to standardize on-site workflows. Provide on-site technical guidance to electricians and apprentices, offering support for rack welding, equipment hoisting balance control, and component assembly precision calibration. Troubleshoot post-installation mechanical issues such as loose racks or deformed battery cabinets, develop targeted rectification plans, and track implementation to ensure timely resolution. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience in technical project support, process optimization, or mechanical design-related work. Basic proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., CAD) and technical documentation compilation. General understanding of engineering systems and industry standards. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality compliance in all technical work. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and dynamic project environments. We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. Join us in building a future where quality and trust define every project!
