About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager – Oncology / Haematology to lead our 30-bed specialist ward at our Fitzroy campus. Reporting to the General Manager / Director of Clinical Services , this role is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the ward, leadership of nursing staff, and delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. You will lead a highly skilled multidisciplinary nursing team, including graduate nurses and postgraduate students, working alongside surgeons and medical specialists who are leaders in their field and deliver contemporary cancer treatments. This fixed-term maternity leave opportunity offers full-time hours through to August 2026. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, direction and professional support to nursing and support staff Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in line with best practice Foster a positive team culture focused on engagement, collaboration and continuous improvement Build and maintain effective relationships with staff, visiting medical practitioners, patients and families Promote compliance with hospital policies, procedures and professional standards Manage staffing, resources and activity efficiently to meet service demand and organisational priorities About You You are a confident and capable clinical leader with a passion for oncology and haematology nursing.
