Community Access | Anxiety & Panic Support | One-on-One Role We are seeking a confident, calm, and experienced Support Worker to provide behavioural and community-based support for a client living in Ambarvale who experiences severe anxiety and panic attacks related to being around people. This role requires strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to advocate firmly for the client’s personal space in public settings. What We’re Looking For: Experience supporting clients with severe anxiety, panic attacks, or psychosocial disability Confident communicator who is not afraid to speak up in public Calm under pressure and able to follow strict behavioural guidelines Strong boundaries and ability to listen closely to client cues Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle Mandatory Requirements: Certificate in Disability or relevant mental health competency Relevant experiences are highly preferable Current First Aid Certificate Police Check NDIS Worker Screening Check Working with Children Check Australian Work Rights Key Responsibilities: Community Access & Transport Support the client to safely access the community Act as a physical and verbal barrier between the client and other people at all times when in public Be firm, calm, and assertive to prevent people approaching the client Drive the client using your own vehicle Support walks at the oval or bushwalking Behavioural & Emotional Support Client is petrified of people and cannot go out alone If a panic attack occurs: Calm the client verbally only Do not touch the client Assist the client to use the Finch App for de-escalation Follow triggers and communication boundaries closely Respect requests for silence if the client feels overwhelmed Domestic Assistance Client completes most tasks independently May require prompting, encouragement, or motivation at times Important Sensory & Health Requirements Non-smoker preferred Must not smell of smoke or smoke during shifts No perfume or strong scents (client has asthma and scent sensitivity) Apply Now Click APPLY to submit your application.
