Description The Sports Officer will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional sports experience at UOW Pulse. Under the guidance of the UniActive Sports Manager, you will facilitate sports programs and competitions, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Your duties will also include assisting with school holiday programs, birthday parties, and umpiring sports events. With your excellent communication skills and knowledge of sports rules, you'll create a positive and inclusive atmosphere, engaging volunteers and participants alike. Responsibilities Facilitate sports programs and competitions, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations. Assist with the planning and execution of school holiday programs and birthday parties. Umpire sports competitions and make fair decisions under pressure. Engage and collaborate with Pulse volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. Create and maintain a safe and professional sports facility across all UniActive locations. Develop and implement strategies to enhance participant engagement and satisfaction. Collaborate with the Sports Manager to ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement of sports programs. Provide excellent customer service and address participant inquiries and feedback. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the Sports Manager. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Sports Manager. Qualifications Working With Children Check - Essential First Aid Certificate - Essential CPR Certification - Essential Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of participants and volunteers. In-depth knowledge of sports rules and regulations for a variety of sports. Ability to make quick and fair decisions, especially in high-pressure situations. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. A positive and inclusive attitude, with a passion for sports and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment. Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for sports program management (e.g., scheduling tools, communication platforms).
