Description About the opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join our agile, inclusive and collegiate Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) group in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a global law firm and be part of a growing, high performing team in the region who advise leading Australian and multinational clients operating in a range of sectors on complex and high-profile matters across privacy, cyber security, digital regulation and technology, media and communications. The role involves a diverse mix of advisory, regulatory and incident response work, including transactions and significant cross-border matters in the APAC region, as well as supporting digital transformation projects and compliance program uplifts. You will work closely with clients, partners and colleagues, providing strategic, commercial and practical advice in a fast-moving regulatory and risk environment. With a strong focus and technical experience in privacy, cyber and digital regulation you would be looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your career. Key areas of responsibility Leading and supporting cyber incident and data breach response, including pre-breach, and advising on cyber and privacy related regulatory investigations and litigation Advising on emerging digital and technology regulation, including online safety, platform regulation, AI governance and risk, communications and media-related issues Managing matters and budgets efficiently, supervising junior lawyers and sharing client and industry knowledge across the team to support their growth and the development of the practice Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives About you - candidate profile Qualified to practice in Australia with 8 years post-qualification experience gained in a leading law firm, specialist practice or in-house role Demonstrated experience in privacy, technology and information security Hands on experience advising on cyber matters, including incident response and cyber insurance Strong knowledge of Australian privacy and digital regulation, with exposure to cross-border or regional work and regulation being highly regarded Great organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple and complex matters and work effectively under pressure and within tight timeframes, particularly in incident response Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to a growing practice and developing your career Bring energy and passion to the role About Pinsent Masons Pinsent Masons is one of the world’s leading law firms, with a rapidly growing presence in Australia built on a reputation for outstanding work for clients and genuine care for its people.
