The key duties of the position include As part of Identity Branch, your work will help protect all Australians from identity crime by delivering high quality identity services, legislation and policy that meet community needs, now and into the future. The branch delivers and coordinates efforts across whole-of-government strategic policy and legislation which aim to strengthen identity resilience. The branch also operates identity verification services (IVS) that are vital to the Australian economy. Positions are available across the Identity Policy, Legal Policy and IVS Enhancement Sections for high-performing APS 5-6 Legal/Policy Officers interested in: Identity Policy coordinating and aligning national efforts to strengthen Australian identity security, including innovative policy, new technology and operational approaches across jurisdictions delivering policy and project initiatives under the National Strategy for Identity Resilience to improve identity proofing, access to services and law enforcement efforts to prevent identity crime administering contracted support services to support victims recovering from identity crime Legal Policy supporting policy work related to the administration and implementation of the Identity Verification Services Act 2023 assisting teams who are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the IVS providing support and secretariat functions for various committee meetings. IVS Enhancements supporting the delivery of enhancements to the Credential Protection Register (CPR) supporting policy development and providing legal policy advice, ensuring consistency with legal frameworks engaging with our managed service provider to ensure enhancements to the CPR are fit-for-purpose.
