The Manager Intelligence will: Manage and lead a team of Intelligence staff through the application of contemporary management practice and in strict adherence to established delegations. Participate as an effective member of the management team in the execution, promotion, and implementation of the agency's strategic direction and operational plans. Provide briefings to senior management on priority intelligence issues to support tactical, operational and strategic decision-making. Provide oversight, deliver workflow management, prioritise, and allocate work tasks appropriately and encourage and promote a strong work ethic to achieve team results. Perform administrative tasks associated with supervising a team, including reviewing timesheets, managing leave requests, and ensuring professional development opportunities are provided to staff. Promote and nurture a team culture that has good morale, values diversity and interacts effectively with diverse target groups. Ensure compliance with reporting timeframes, governance, and oversight of functional allocations within the team. Ensure that training and development opportunities are provided to staff. Contribute to the enhancement of the intelligence team's knowledge base of relevant strategic and operational issues impacting the agency and the respective location. Have a thorough understanding of the operating environment and associated risks through the monitoring of activities, focusing on the collection, analysis and reporting of critical threats, risks, and issues relevant to the agency. Identify potential targets, along with associated risks and emerging trends critical for maintaining a safe and secure correctional environment. Prepare and disseminate high quality intelligence products both tactical and strategic that seeks to inform and influence internal and external stakeholders on matters of emerging threats and issues impacting the correctional environment and community. Develop and maintain an Intelligence Management Plan and Information Collection Plan to meet operational requirements. Develop and maintain strong networks with internal and external stakeholders though information sharing and adopting a collaborative approach to risk management strategies. Ensure sensitive information is appropriately managed, stored, and accessible by authorised personnel only. Interview informants to gather information about potential threats, illicit activities, or prisoner and offender behaviour. Raise awareness of the role and value of intelligence as a corporate asset, through the delivery of intelligence awareness training to correctional staff. Lead and coordinate intelligence activities in response to a major incident when required. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage intelligence staff, including providing guidance, support, strategic direction, training, professional development and performance feedback. High level knowledge of and experience in applying intelligence processes, practices, and methodologies to identify trends, emerging threats and develop informative intelligence products. We are seeking an experienced practitioner to lead a team of intelligence officers to deliver intelligence services to support the delivery of the Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Program within Queensland Corrective Services (QCS). This program has a strong rehabilitative and risk-reduction focus. Applicants with experience in intelligence analysis and/or a strong understanding of domestic and family violence risk factors and patterns of offending are strongly encouraged to apply.
