What You'll Be Doing This position is a temporary full-time position supported through the WSLHD Aboriginal Training Pathways Program. The incumbent of this position will be employed on a 12-month contract as a Dental Assistant – WSLHD Trainee. This position will provide WSLHD with a skilled Dental Assistant at the completion of the traineeship. As part of the WSLHD Aboriginal Training Pathways Program the trainee will undertake a nationally recognised health related qualification, relevant to the position. Trainees in Dental Assisting are contracted under a NSW training contract and will automatically be enrolled in a Certificate III in Dental Assisting. The Dental Assistant Trainee will learn and undertake the educational and clinical responsibilities within all aspects, and scope of practice of Dentistry including but not limited to Chairside Assisting, Management of Infection Control, Instrument Preparation, Dental Charting, Sterilisation and Patient Care.
