As one of Queensland’s earliest nature-based tourist destinations and in the Queensland Tourism Awards Hall of Fame, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of NTAQ’s mission : to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations As we continue to see growth in group and leisure markets, alongside our premier event venue – The Homestead – and the immersive Astra Lumina experience, we are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive bookings, attract guests to our unique offerings and spaces, and elevate the overall guest and event experience at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. About the Role As a motivated sales professional, you will be a key ambassador for our event precinct, including The Homestead, & The Pavillion & the Sanctuary and Astra Lumina, promoting these unique experiences to maximise bookings and revenue. As a creative thinker and problem solver, bring imagination and innovation to the design of events across our unique landscape and diverse venue spaces. Reporting to the Head of Sales and Events, you will proactively drive MICE, corporate, and group event sales, generating new leads and nurturing relationships across local domestic, and international markets. You will identify and develop new event opportunities within CWS and Astra Lumina, create and implement effective sales strategies, and work closely with partners, agents, and key stakeholders to convert enquiries into bookings and providing a tailored experiences that also work to support NTAQ unique mission and vales. Through active promotion of our event spaces and immersive experiences, you will contribute to increased visitation, revenue growth, and the overall success of the Sanctuary’s event offerings. About You To be successful in this role, you will have relevant experience in a similar role in a diverse and dynamic organisation. Other key skills we are looking for include; Proven experience in achieving strong sales results including creating and implementing sales activities for group and events business and building close client relationships. Experience within the Gold Coast marketplace would be highly regarded. Self-m otivated, results-orientated and a positive and proactive approach. Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to use superior negotiation skills to secure sales. Established relationships with PCO’s and event contacts and an established network of industry contacts and existing clients. D emonstrated ability to prepare internal reports that meet business needs and relevant administrative skills, with a strong attention to detail. The ability to meet and exceed sales targets and budget expectations. Hotel or tourism/attraction event sales experience considered an advantage. Experience in selling a variety of events and entertainment spaces is desirable.
