The Role The Junction Works Community & Youth team provides services to children, youth, families and communities across Liverpool, Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Campbelltown. The Junction Works has an opportunity for an experienced and passionate Community & Youth Worker to join the team. Reporting to Senior Community & Youth Officer, this pivotal role will see you responsible for developing and delivering Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded programs. The role will also see you provide comprehensive case management services, targeted support, social participation and community support. This role will also require you to facilitate a range of workshops and programs across schools/organisations targeting children, youth, families and communities. To this role you will bring demonstrated knowledge of/exposure to youth and community services with a passion for supporting everyone involved. The ideal candidate will also bring an open and creative mindset to the position; new and innovative ideas are encouraged! Strong organisational skills and the willingness to jump into any task at hand will also contribute to your success in this role. Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to): Provide case management support and services to children, youth, families and communities. Develop and deliver funded Community, Youth & Children’s projects across the Liverpool, Fairfield, Canterbury - Bankstown and Campbelltown LGA’s. Encourage stability, well-being, resilience and empowerment of our Community & Youth participants/clients through our programs and services. Provide Targeted Early Intervention - Program Activities (Community Connections, Community Centres, Community Support and Targeted Support) as per DCJ Agreement for funding of services. Provide and facilitate social inclusion programs. Travel to TJW sites or other community locations (incl. transport of relevant program-specific equipment). Adhere to all TJW policies and procedures as well as any relevant legislation. To be successful you need: Current NSW Driver’s Licence Current First Aid Certificate Current NSW Working with Children Check Current National Police Check Access to a vehicle (we encourage comprehensive insurance to be in place) Our ideal candidate will have Tertiary qualification in Youth / Community Services / Behavioural / Social Sciences or related field Demonstrated experience in delivering Programs in a community, youth and children’s services setting. Excellent communication and negotiation skills including verbal, written and cross cultural. Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic and creative team Proven ability to network and liaise with government and non-government agencies Extensive knowledge of services available in South West Sydney including but not limited to the following LGAs – Liverpool, Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Campbelltown where referrals are made Proven organisational and administrative skills High level computer literacy including MS Office and use of emerging technology Why choose a career with The Junction Works ?
