About the role Mater Mothers Hospital are currently seeking a Clinical Facilitator for the Midwifery SwIM (Strength with Immersion Model) Program. The SwIM program offers immersive learning experiences and hands-on training to early to mid-career nurses and midwives, allowing them to develop their skills in a specific specialty practice, enhance their expertise, and deliver high-quality care within their chosen specialty. This role will be a maximum-term contract until the 8th of March 2026 working 38 hours per week based at our South Brisbane campus. Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 (RN2) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing In consultation with the Education Co-ordinator, the Clinical Facilitator role will plan, deliver and evaluate clinical education needs of rural, regional and remote midwifery staff under the Midwifery Strength with Immersion Program (SwIM). Through effective collaboration and communication with members of the Education and Clinical teams, the Midwifery SwIM Clinical Facilitator will be responsible for the learning needs of the SwIM participants. The Clinical Facilitator reports to the Education Coordinator. In response to identified learning needs, plan, develop, implement and evaluate clinical learning and development opportunities to meet knowledge and skill requirements. In collaboration with the Education Co-ordinator, develop evidence-based, flexible and fit for purpose clinical learning contracts , assessments and resources which meet current and emergent clinical learning needs. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills which support productive working relationships and contribute to a positive workplace and/or organisational culture of empowerment and trust. Support professional development and/or performance improvement processes by observation and assessment of staff performance against regulatory, professional and organisational competency standards to provide constructive feedback and remedy performance concerns. Incorporate Simulation and other education methodologies into learning activities and resources (where possible) to enhance the application of knowledge and skills, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and problem solving to practice. Proactively seek opportunities for innovation and improvement in contemporary education and clinical / patient care practice. Assist wards with clinical care when required. About you To be successful in the role you will have the following: Current and unrestricted registration and endorsement (where applicable) with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife and/or Registered Nurse/Midwife.
