As part of the Identity Branch your work will help protect all Australians from identity crime - including you. The branch is responsible for the technical systems, policies and legal frameworks that are needed to establish, protect and verify identity. The branch works with Commonwealth, state and territory government agencies and industry to implement innovative methods to prevent identity crime and support victims, helps Australians to access the digital economy and digital IDs, and improves how identity is verified. The branch is a safe and inclusive working environment and is focused on wellbeing and staff development. The advertised roles will work within the Identity Verification Services (IVS) Enhancements Section. This section is responsible for delivering enhancements to the IVS, including the Document Verification Service (DVS), Face Verification Service (FVS), National Driver Licence Facial Recognition Solution (NDLFRS) and the Credential Protection Register (CPR). These enhancements ensure that the operation of the IVS remain up to date with relevant security standards and supports broader work across the branch to improve and expand the operation of the services. How you can help us make a difference We are seeking energetic and fast-learning officers who are looking to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver projects to improve the capability of the identity verification services. As an APS6 Project Officer your responsibilities include: planning and estimating future projects, including the development of IT and business requirements in consultation with stakeholders developing and delivering change, communication and training activities to support new capabilities, developing user support documentation relating to projects and systems collaborating with IT service providers to deliver project outcomes building and maintaining strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including government departments and law enforcement agencies coordinating workshops and stakeholder forums, including secretariat activities undertaking general project management activities. Our preferred candidate will showcase: an understanding of project/program management principles demonstrate an ability to gather, analyse and interpret information to support business outcomes strong stakeholder engagement skills, communication and writing skills an ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve shared goals contributing to a positive team culture strong attention to detail and organisational skills suited to a working in a high-pressure environment and ability to work on concurrent activities. Qualifications in project management or a background working on identity management or biometrics would be highly regarded.
