Operations Director - AU & APAC Melbourne, VIC | Full-time | Leadership Opportunity Are you an experienced Operations leader ready to make a real impact? About the Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a Melbourne-based team of 30-40 employees, overseeing operations across assembly, fabrication, logistics, and material management. You will translate sales forecasts into actionable operational plans, manage ERP systems, and work closely with finance on cost structures, budgets, and operational efficiency. What You'll Do Lead a major operational transformation, implementing a roadmap to create a lean, highly efficient OPS 2.0 environment. Translate business strategy into actionable plans for assembly, fabrication, logistics, and workforce management. Champion change management, driving cultural and operational improvements with empathy and hands-on leadership. Work closely with the team on the floor to understand individual workflows, optimize labour mix, and enhance performance. Oversee KPI management, operational checks and balances, and ensure seamless utilisation of offsite storage and 3PL capacity. Collaborate with the MD to set strategic goals and implement operational initiatives that align with overall growth strategies. What We're Looking For Hands-on, pragmatic leader with experience managing complex, low-volume, customised operations. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives while being present on the floor with the team. Empathetic and collaborative management style, with a proven track record of engaging and developing teams. Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets and P&L oversight. Change management expertise - able to champion transformation initiatives and make them your own. Ability to adapt lean principles to complex operations and optimise workforce performance.
