Skilled Trades Assistant – Aluminium Weld & Assembly Location: Northern suburbs, Melbourne, VIC About Us Our client is a leading Australian truck-trailer manufacturer based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. They pride themselves on quality, safety, and producing durable trailers for heavy-duty applications. As part of a growing, hands-on team, you’ll play a key role in building and assembling new semi-trailers — from wiring and braking systems to body assembly. The Role You will be working across multiple aspects of trailer build and assembly, including: Installing electrical harnesses, lights, plugs, and sockets on new semi-trailers Fitting hydraulic and pneumatic trailer braking systems Installing light electrical components on trailer bodies Assisting with diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues on semi-trailers Performing basic welding (preferred, but not essential) Following assembly procedures, quality checks, and safety standards What We’re Looking For You’ll be a great fit if you have: A background in automotive or light vehicle mechanics, or equivalent mechanical aptitude Experience or knowledge of heavy vehicles and plant equipment (advantageous) Understanding — or willingness to learn — hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems Basic knowledge of automotive / trailer electrical systems A commitment to safety and familiarity with OH&S practices Good ability to follow established procedures and quality standards Legal right to work in Australia and current residence in Melbourne Reference contact details from at least two recent employers Why Work With Us Gain hands-on experience in trailer manufacturing and assembly Work full-time in a stable, respected manufacturing environment Be part of a team where quality, safety and reliability matter — ideal for someone who takes pride in their work Supportive workplace culture that values transparency and honest communication TRS Resourcing is committed to achieving a diverse workforce in Australia.
