With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Environmental Services Assistants (ESA) to join the Environmental Services department.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role: This role requires to undertake a range of clinical and non-clinical cleaning duties which supports the well-being of patients, staff and others at Kilmore District Hospital. The Environmental Service Assistant is likely to have contact with patients, staff and visitors to the hospital and will demonstrate effective inter-personnel skills and an ability to work cooperatively and flexibly so as to not disrupt the operation of the Health Service.  This role is responsible for: Perform routine cleaning duties according to established cleaning schedules which include: sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of floors in Offices, Pantries, Reception, Corridors, Wards, Toilets, Theatre and Accommodation, and effective waste management. laundry practices which include: collection of soiled and personal linen, check and order linen supplies, wash linen and the redistribution of clean and personal linen. Maintain records of the completion of cleaning schedule duties. Ability to use and store cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.  To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and good working knowledge of Environmental Services Cleaning in a Hospital and Age Care setting. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a Team Demonstrated time management and organization skills Well-developed interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize completing needs and work flexibility Displays a commitment to providing quality service to patients and families Displays an awareness of and works to culturally diverse needs of patients and families Required to work Weekends, public Holidays and Evenings  Next Steps . . .
