As Practice Support Manager, you will specifically: - Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.- Support the development and lead the implementation of practice improvement initiatives that contribute to quality service delivery and improved outcomes for young people in youth detention centres.- Provide direct input into reviews of youth detention policy and procedures, coordinate and support feedback processes and ensure practice changes and expectations are communicated effectively to youth detention staff.- Develop, manage and implement processes to monitor and assess the effectiveness of policy and procedures and provide proactive advice andrecommendations to support best practice service delivery.- Prepare a range of written material including executive correspondence, briefing material and information papers in relation to service delivery within youth detention centres.- Provide expert advice and support to the Deputy Director to ensure effective practice application and compliance with policies and procedures.- Provide expert advice to the Manager, Youth Justice Practice (Intensive Support) about best practice and operational implications to support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and other initiatives that contribute to quality service delivery in youth detention services.- Participate as an effective member of the youth detention management team in the development, promotion and implementation of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General strategic direction, Code of Conduct, the Youth Detention Centre Policies and Procedures, the Centre's operational plans and rules and day-to-day operational functioning issues.- Work collaboratively with a range of internal stakeholders to support and drive quality youth detention service delivery.- Undertake specific project work at the request of the Deputy Director related to driving quality youth detent ion service delivery and improved outcomes for young people.- Research, analyse and prepare reports on complex issues and initiatives relating to youth detention service delivery and operational practice.- Contribute and coordinate effective change management processes in relation to policy, procedure and practice changes, inclusive of participation and delivery of relevant training.- Promote a culture of operational service delivery that adheres to best practice standards in youth detention and supports the needs of young people in youth detention.
