This is an exciting opportunity to join our Water Resource Management Division as a Water Officer (AO3), providing essential administrative and operational support within the Water Licensing and Business Support team. These positions are based in Ayr, Mareeba, and Mackay (alternate locations may be considered for this oppotunity). The RoleAs a Water Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the management of Queensland's natural water resources through the implementation of legislation andpolicy. You will:-Provide administrative and project support across water management functions.-Assist with processing simple water dealings (e.g., transfers of water licences) and respond to client enquiries.-Operate a variety of software systems to maintain accurate records and deliver quality customer service.-Support corporate functions such as asset management, travel bookings, and debt management.-Contribute to a positive, outcomes-focused team culture and adapt to changing departmental priorities. Key Accountabilities-Gain an understanding of the Water Act 2000, Water Regulation 2016, and related legislation to undertake assessments and provide initial advice.-Apply knowledge of departmental policies and procedures to deliver accurate and timely outcomes.-Maintain integrity and transparency in all interactions and actively support team objectives.-Meet deadlines and resolve issues as part of a solutions-focused culture.-Provide high-quality administrative support and assist other teams as required. About YouWe are seeking a proactive and adaptable team player who demonstrates:-Strong organisational and administrative skills, with experience using Microsoft Office.-Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently while contributing to team goals.-Excellent communication and customer service skills.-Flexibility and willingness to learn new processes and systems.-While there are no mandatory qualifications, a current C class driver's licence is highly regarded. Some travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
