While you will be part of a cohesive and supportive Social Work team, this position has a strong focus on collaborating with the Multicultural and Refugee Health Unit to deliver vital services to refugee and multicultural communities across both inpatient and outpatient settings. What You’ll Be Doing In this Level 3 Social Work role, you will provide services across community and inpatient settings with a primary focus on supporting the local refugee community. You will deliver trauma-informed, person-centred care that addresses the holistic needs of patients and their families as they navigate settlement and healthcare challenges. You will be supported through regular supervision, daily check-ins, and monthly meetings with your manager. Both internal and external training opportunities are available, and the Multicultural Health team provides ongoing professional development and inclusive support structures. This is a part-time role (three days per week) in which you will make a meaningful impact on individuals and families adjusting to life in a new country. About You You are a compassionate and motivated social worker who values culturally safe, patient-centred practice. You build respectful and trusting relationships and thrive when working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams. You have a strong interest in multicultural health and are keen to strengthen your communication skills - particularly in the effective use of interpreter services - to support equitable and responsive care. Requirements Bachelor in Social Work or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) Ability to participate in a weekend roster once every 8 weeks when trained.
