As our Building Community Capacity Lead, you will play a central role in how the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local connects with the community, shaping experiences and supporting meaningful engagement. This role blends people leadership with community connection and capacity building. You will develop strong relationships across services and community groups, represent the service with warmth, and help strengthen community understanding of mental health and wellbeing. You will support co design, invite community voices into our work, and contribute to shaping how the Local continues to evolve. About you You are a thoughtful, empathetic leader who thrives in collaborative environments. You bring a genuine curiosity about people and communities and have a natural ability to connect with diverse groups, understand different perspectives, and create inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued. You will also bring: 2 years senior mental health leadership experience, including senior lived experience roles 2 years of experience in a community engagement / community development role, or similar 100 points of identification Evidence of right to work in Australia International Police (if required) Satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undertake NDIS Workers Orientation Modules – free online course About the Service The Mildura Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is a community-based service supporting people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including those with co-occurring alcohol and drug treatment needs. This service is delivered in partnership between Wellways, Mildura Base Hospital, Mallee District Aboriginal Services and Sunraysia Community Health to ensure care is local, responsive and inclusive.
