About The Role We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Health Information Officer to join our team on a casual basis. Reporting to the Health Information Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and timely medical records. Key Responsibilities Compile medical records for discharged patients. Retrieve and prepare records for admissions, inpatients, quality audits, and clinical needs. Respond to internal and external information requests in line with privacy policies. Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times. Follow up on outstanding documentation (e.g., discharge summaries, pathology reports). Monitor and maintain clinical forms, registers, and archives. Scan and file documentation efficiently. Assist with documentation audits and quality improvement initiatives. About You You are an organised, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You value accuracy and confidentiality, enjoy working collaboratively, and understand the importance of well-managed health records in supporting excellent patient care. Essential Requirements Certificate in Medical Terminology. Previous experience in Health Information Services or healthcare clerical roles, ideally in a hospital setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. Desirable Experience in medical records or healthcare clerical roles. Strong commitment to confidentiality and data integrity. High-level computer literacy and confidence with digital records systems. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
