We are in discussions with one of our clients in the South East QLD region about the possibility of engaging an experienced Electrical Fitter / Mechanic interested in joining us for 4-6 month assignment that could transition into a to 2 to 3 year assignment with the possibility of further extensions or promotions into other roles. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising Qualified Electrical / Mechanics &/or Licenced Industrial Electricians with the installation of; Heavy 3 phase PLC Manufacturing Equipment, Instrumentation, Switchboards, cable routing & inspecting cable & tray installations as a guide to, but not limited to, the likely activities. Our client is in the Structural Construction Phase of a number of “large scale” Manufacturing workshops between Bundaberg and the Gold Coast. The first 4 to 6 Mths (which could extend beyond) would be in the Bundaberg Region with the next 1 to 2 years being in the Gold Coast region. This may interest 1 person who wishes to be initially based or engaged in a roster cycle to/from the Bundaberg region before transitioning to the Gold Coast region, or we are open to consider individuals who may only be interested in only one location or another. Mandatory Experience As a guide, the successful candidate for this role is likely to have a minimum of 10 years' extensive practical experience in Australia as an Industrial Electrician, setting up & or upgrading/maintaining Heavy Industry Manufacturing facilities and at least a few years of demonstrable experience supervising qualified trades people. Mandatory Qualifications As a minimum, a trade certificate as an Electrical Fitter/Mechanic with any supervisory certificates seen as a bonus. Mandatory Selection Criteria Quality Assurance and regular reporting requirements would require proficient Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management and email platforms. Must have a driver's licence and have access to own transport to/from home to site. There is a preference for someone who is able to furnish their own laptop & mobile phone. Preference will also be given to someone already living in SEQLD between the Gold Coast or Bundaberg &/or willing to relocate there, however we will consider other alternatives. The proposed hours are nominally 40 per week & mainly day shift rosters, (which may be cycled from time to time to provide relief), although no guarantee there won't be more or less hours due to project demands. Some Saturday and Sunday work may be required but this is anticipated to be minimal. *International Candidates NOTE: Unfortunately, due to the nature of adherence to local Queensland & Australian Standards, Specifications and Quality Assurance Codes, we are unable to consider international candidates without the aforementioned Australian experience.
