Purpose of the role We're looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) to join our Yatala Workshop within the Asset Services - Fleet Maintenance directorate. In this role, you'll: Service, repair and maintain a range of heavy and light emergency vehicles, plant and equipment. Diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance to manufacturer and QFD standards. Apply your technical expertise to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and operationally ready. Work collaboratively with skilled tradespeople and technical officers in a supportive, safety-focused environment. Maintain accurate service records and contribute to fleet improvement initiatives. About You You take pride in your work, thrive in a team environment, and understand the importance of reliability in every vehicle you service. To succeed, you'll bring: A recognised qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent trade certificate. Experience in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles (government or emergency service fleet experience highly regarded). Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Current C Class Driver Licence (MR/HR Licence desirable). Commitment to safety, teamwork and high-quality outcomes. Special requirements Provide an after-hours rostered on-call service for the provision of urgent maintenance/repairs for fire appliances/heavy vehicles and equipment.
