The Information Architecture team within ASX Technology plays a critical role in shaping the organisation’s data landscape. We are responsible for defining and maintaining the Data Reference Architecture and Roadmap, ensuring alignment with ASX’s data strategy and business objectives. Working in close partnership with the ASX Data Office and key business stakeholders, the team sets the direction for the technologies and capabilities required to deliver enterprise-wide data solutions. This includes designing, governing, and guiding the delivery of platforms that uplift data management and governance practices, enabling high-quality data outcomes across the organisation. Our work underpins innovation by ensuring all solutions align with ASX’s data governance and management frameworks, policies, and standards—creating a foundation for trusted, well-managed data that drives business success. Your Responsibilities Define and maintain the enterprise data reference architecture (capabilities, patterns, standards, technology choices). Design high-quality data models (conceptual, logical, physical) that support data product enablement, analytics, operational outcomes and APIs. Establish integration patterns for batch, streaming, and API-based data movement; support event-driven and microservices architectures. Produce and refresh the data product framework, working with key programs and stakeholders to meet required standards. Enable robust data governance and management, architect solutions that will allow the business to execute and meet the requirements of data management, data breach management and data governance framework. Architect modern data platforms (cloud data lakehouse/warehouse, streaming, MDM, catalogue, lineage) and guide reference implementations with platform engineering. Define appropriate data controls to enable the data risk controls taxonomy. Enable delivery teams with standards, patterns, guardrails and solution documentation across Agile and traditional SDLC. Drive data culture and literacy—uplift stakeholders through workshops, artefacts, and practical guidance that simplifies complex topics. Continuously improve architecture governance (Data Impact Assessments, architecture reviews, policy compliance, exception handling). Must Have Proven experience producing a data reference architecture, identifying current, transition and target state architecture and solution patterns. Guide solution delivery at enterprise scale. Strong data modelling skills (conceptual/logical/physical). Experience in data product framework design, lifecycle and articulating prescriptive guidance to the business and delivery teams on how to implement data products. Demonstrated experience with articulating solutions for key management repositories or global identifiers. Architect data product enabler capabilities. Produce comprehensive technical specifications for metadata management, data quality. Extensive expertise in data governance and data management including policies, standards, metadata, enterprise-wide lineage, data quality, and stewardship. Combined with hands-on experience using leading data management tools and modern data platform services. · Strong understanding of data risks & controls and have developed and implemented them within regulated environments. Modern data platform architecture & engineering—cloud (AWS/GCP), lakehouse/warehouse, streaming (Kafka/Event Hub), orchestration, Glue/dbt, CI/CD. Hands-on experience with modern data platform and data management tooling for catalogue, lineage and governance tools (Collibra/Informatica/Alation, Purview; OpenLineage). Strong understanding of last mile processing and assigning appropriate patterns and guidelines for usage. Excellent communication—able to simplify complex ideas and align stakeholders across business and technology. Nice to Have Financial services or exchange/market data experience. Familiarity with data frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, CDMC). Knowledge of privacy/security standards (e.g., encryption, tokenisation, zero trust), and regulatory contexts. Experience with responsible AI adoption, AI strategy and reference architecture. Architecture frameworks and tooling (TOGAF, ArchiMate, UML; ERwin/ER/Studio).
