We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Brookside Preschool . At Brookside Preschool we believe children develop best when they feel safe and secure within their physical environment. To achieve this, the adults caring for children need to be nurturing and responsive to individual needs. We view children as strong, capable, competent and curious. Children bring with them experiences, theories, knowledge and skills and questions that need answering. Our curriculum is purposeful, authentic and flexible. At Brookside Preschool children learn through a variety of teaching strategies. Our experienced and passionate educators are intentional in scaffold learning, modelling skills and behaviours, co-constructing to build knowledge and understandings, questioning and actively encourage problem-solving. Children are offered long periods of uninterrupted play that moves between indoors and outdoors to allow for deep learning. This is a part time, fixed term position ending in January 2027. You will be working 33.75 hours per week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 4:45 pm, Tuesday 9:00am to 1pm and Thursday 9:00am to 12:30pm. About you You're reflective, curious and purpose-led, with a deep commitment to making a difference. You're open to learning and understanding the unique needs of every child. You're a critical thinker and collaborative team member. You have a drive to grow and improve continually. You value kindness and respect. You have great knowledge of the child safe standards and early childhood regulations. You hold a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or equivalent, a VIT, mandatory reporting certificate, police check and a first aid certificate. You have strong leadership skills About the role You’ll develop a high-quality educational program for the 3/4-year-old program in consultation with children, families and educators to achieve agreed outcomes for children. You’ll work collaboratively with Educators to implement an educational program driven by children's interests, underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework, that aims to achieve their holistic development and facilitate a smooth transition to school. You’ll document the delivery of the educational program, children's interests and assessments of their learning and development needs. You’ll critically reflect and inspire staff to critically reflect on their pedagogical practice, share ideas and identify innovative ways of achieving positive outcomes for children. Contribute to a child safe environment ensuring standards are met on a daily basis. Why ECMS?
