A State Government Department is seeking a highly organised and proactive AO4 General Manager Support Officer to join their Strategy and Delivery division. This full-time role sits within the Executive Support Team and provides high-level administrative and executive support to the General Manager of Operations. AO4 General Manager Support Officer State Government Department – Berrinba Pay Rate: $59.16 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week Contract Term: ASAP or 5 January 2025 – 26 February 2026 (with potential extension) Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: Providing high-level, confidential secretarial and administrative support, including diary management and email monitoring. Using sound judgement and discretion to autonomously redirect and respond to matters within defined boundaries, preventing unnecessary interruptions and screening calls. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the General Manager is fully supported with required papers, briefings, and meeting attendees. Applying effective problem-solving skills to resolve issues where procedures may not be fully defined. Maintaining accurate and secure paper and electronic records in line with established information management principles. Arranging appointments, meetings, events, travel, accommodation, venue bookings, financial and purchasing tasks, and coordinating correspondence and information distribution. Providing meeting support, including preparing agendas, papers, minutes, and prioritising correspondence and outstanding requests. Working closely with business units to ensure departmental standards for correspondence and documentation are consistently met. Supporting the flow of departmental and ministerial correspondence, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are achieved. Producing high-quality written correspondence and documents using approved templates, style guides, and corporate standards. Assisting with secretarial, receptionist, and customer service tasks as required. Actively contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
