As Head of AML/CTF, you will play a central role in safeguarding the organisation, driving transformation, and building a high-performing compliance function that supports sustainable business growth Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will lead a developing AML/CTF team and oversee a significant program of uplift across frameworks, systems, monitoring capability, and regulatory engagement. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the AML/CTF team, currently 7 staff, with plans to expand. Enhance AML/CTF systems, including Oracle case management, transaction monitoring, and customer screening , to streamline and automate processes. Implement and monitor AML/CTF frameworks to ensure compliance with PNG legislation, international standards, and regulatory requirements. Identify compliance, process, and system gaps and lead corrective actions. Manage AML/CTF projects end-to-end, including greylisting, correspondent banking, and high-risk transaction oversight. Collaborate across divisions and engage with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders. What We’re Looking For 10 years in AML/CTF compliance within multinational or well-regulated international banks, including exposure to correspondent banking. Proven experience leading and growing teams of 10–12 people, with a hands-on, execution-focused approach. Track record of delivering AML/CTF uplift programs, system enhancements, or large-scale compliance transformation; experience with Oracle Core Banking, transaction monitoring, AML/KYC, and automated compliance tools preferred. Strong knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, global regulatory trends, and international best practices; experience in fraud detection, investigation, and development of policies, processes, and systems. University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or related field. Certification such as CAMS or membership in recognised AML/CTF professional associations preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
