Your Responsibilities As a Legal Officer in the Information Release team you will: Perform functions as the Department's delegated decision maker for applications made under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act), Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act), and Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act); Process requests and ensure compliance with court ordered requests and other legislative requests for information served on the Director-General of the Department of Education; Provide advice and assistance to employees who are served with a court ordered request to give evidence in their capacity as an employee of the department; Provide legal advice and assistance to department employees relating to the requirements and application of the RTI Act, IP Act, FOI Act, and issues concerning privacy compliance; and Provide legal advice and assistance on other matters primarily relating to information release.
