Reference Data Specialist Sydney or Melbourne | Hybrid | Global Organisation | Transformation Program We are looking for a Reference Data Specialist to join our Data Services team, supporting large-scale data and analytics initiatives for a leading global organisation. This is an opportunity to be part of a high-impact transformation program , uplifting enterprise-wide data quality, governance, and standardisation. In this role, you'll work across business and technology teams to strengthen reference data foundations, improve consistency, and enable better data-driven decision-making across the organisation. What You'll Do Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate their data use cases into clear business and technical requirements. Analyse enterprise data ecosystems, identify current data capabilities, and align them with strategic outcomes. Coordinate with data governance and data quality teams to ensure adherence to global standards, quality rules, and remediation processes. Develop, maintain, and enhance reference data , data dictionaries, enumerations, and classifications for consistency across systems. Support key data governance initiatives by identifying root causes of data quality issues and driving remediation activities. Document data definitions, rules, and standards to support consistent enterprise-wide data usage. What We're Looking For Experience in data governance, data design, data management, or reference data roles. Solid experience with Databricks. Strong understanding of data governance principles, reference data frameworks, and data dictionary development. Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across both business and technology environments. Familiarity with data modelling, data design methodologies, and platforms such as Databricks (or similar). What Will Set You Apart Experience working within financial services or other large-scale enterprise environments. Practical knowledge of Agile and SDLC methodologies. Hands-on experience with data profiling, querying (Oracle, DB2, Databricks), and data visualisation tools. Ability to operate independently while managing priorities in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.
