Mechanical Fitter Company Description Balance Machine Services is a Perth-based company specialising in the maintenance and servicing of mining equipment such as reclaimers, stackers, and shiploaders across the Australian mining industry. Role Description As an experienced Mechanical Fitter, you will be joining our maintenance and projects shutdown crews. In this role you will be involved in mechanical repairs and servicing or upgrades on various types of balance machines. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for fitting, maintenance, and preventive maintenance tasks for machinery on-site. Other tasks include machining and repairing machinery components, which will include other general tasks or duties (as per their experience and qualifications), both remotely and in our Canning Vale workshop. Qualifications Mechanical fitting and machinery maintenance skills Experience in preventive maintenance for machinery Machining skills for repair and maintenance of machinery components Certification in mechanical fitting or a related field Experience in the mining industry or similar heavy equipment industry, including site-based operations, preferably with balance machine knowledge Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and other specifications Attention to detail with a sound understanding of safety in the field. Ability to work in a team environment and on-site Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills Good communication skills Basic computer knowledge and skills to complete client based online inductions Mandatory requirements: Current pre-employment medical including: Pre-Placement questionnaire Musculo-skeletal Spiro Audiometry Epworth Questionnaire Preference will be given to applicants who currently hold: Completed site inductions for: FMG BHP Roy Hill Working Safely at Heights (RIIIWHS204E or similar & within 2 years from issued date). Confined Space Entry (RIIIWHS202E or similar & within 2 years from issued date). Gas Test Atmospheres (MSMWHS217 or similar & within 2 years from issued date). Demonstrate First Fire Attack (MSMWHS212 or similar & within 5 years from issued date). High Risk Licence with WP, & LF endorsements – existing site based VOC’s are also preferrable for BHP, FMG and Roy Hill (as applicable) Driving VOC’s as applicable
