You’ll maintain and enhance our payroll systems, stay aligned with legislation, and contribute to process improvements that make a real impact. You’ll proactively identify and problem solve payroll system issues. While looking for more efficient ways to enhance payroll systems and processes, driving continuous improvement. This position offers variety, of combining technical payroll expertise with administrative support, giving you the chance to grow your skills in a collaborative, supportive environment. You’ll deliver payroll services for our people by: Assist in the maintenance, configuration and testing of relevant system configuration and updates for payroll-relevant systems (Aurion, Mirus and some aspects of Workday) Work collaboratively with colleagues and vendors on other WMQ systems that interface with or impact Aurion such as Mirus, Alaycare and Workday. Work in collaboration with P&C leaders and project team to implement and maximise use and effectiveness of Workday. Assist with processing the fortnightly payroll including payment of wages, superannuation and leave using the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Establish and process new staff and various termination payments Interpret and provide advice on Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Awards and other employment and payroll legislation. Assist with the running and analysis of fortnightly, monthly and end of financial year reports and reconciliations. Prepare letters and correspondence for employee pay matters as required. What We’re Looking For Demonstrated knowledge of payroll operations and practices, and ability to process a payroll in an accurate and timely manner Demonstrated knowledge and use of Human Resource/Payroll Information Systems. Sound knowledge of taxation, superannuation and payroll legislation and ability to interpret Awards and Agreements. Skilled in running and analysing payroll reports (fortnightly, monthly, EOFY). Ability to identify and resolve payroll system issues and proactive in finding ways to improve processes and minimise risk. Experience with Aurion, Mirus, and Workday (or similar HRIS platforms) Ability to maintain, configure, and test payroll-related systems Essential Requirements Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy) Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
