In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the strategic development of our Community Champion program—empowering volunteers to make a real difference in the lives of those seeking connection and support. As a Peer Support Senior Adviser, you will: Lead the strategic development of Beyond Blue’s Community Champion volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, and engagement. Design and implement guidelines, policies, and training to enable volunteers to safely share lived experiences. Develop succession planning and strategies to maintain volunteer capacity and diversity within the program. Create and review credentialing frameworks, competency monitoring, and routine auditing for volunteers. Collaborate with internal teams and external moderators to support onboarding and training processes. Benchmark and engage with other volunteer and lived experience groups to align best practices and build communities of practice. Contribute insights from volunteers to inform service development and enhance the online community experience. Desired Skills and Experience About you To be successful you will hold a: Tertiary qualification in health science, social services, online community moderation, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Demonstrate significant experience in community engagement, including online forums and social media. Strong understanding of online community dynamics and participant needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively. Demonstrate the ability to plan, organise, and manage projects and time effectively. Skilled at building rapport with diverse stakeholders and fostering inclusive environments. Commitment to cultural competency and alignment with Beyond Blue’s values.
