Solution Architect Location: Perth, WA Engagement: Full-time, ongoing contract About the Role: Our client is a leading Perth-based enterprise that is investing in a long-term digital strategy to enhance the customer experience. You will join the central IT Services Architecture Team, working with the Head of Architecture and senior stakeholders to design and govern digital solutions that are future-ready, sustainable and aligned to whole-of-business goals. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology. You will shape solution architectures across cloud, data, integration, applications and infrastructure, making sure designs are secure, cost-effective and support the organisations strategic focus on sustainability, equity, inclusion and innovation. What You’ll Be Doing Working with business, academic and IT stakeholders to understand priorities and translate them into pragmatic solution designs Proposing enterprise-ready architecture options that consider technology, people, process and change impacts Creating high-quality solution architecture designs, models and patterns to guide delivery teams Maintaining reference architectures and roadmaps in the architecture repository to support investment decisions Acting as a bridge between DevOps teams and business stakeholders to keep solutions aligned to requirements and strategy Embedding cybersecurity, identity and access management, sustainability and cloud cost management into all solutions Collaborating with change management and communications specialists to plan and enable business change Contributing to ongoing maturity of the architecture practice and ways of working Key Outcomes & Measures Solutions align with the organisations digital strategy, architecture principles and technology standards Clear, actionable solution designs that support on-time, on-budget delivery Up-to-date reference architectures and models in the architecture repository that underpin decision-making Strong alignment between DevOps and business teams, reducing delivery risk and rework Evidence-based support for continuous technology renewal and investment choices Positive feedback from stakeholders on engagement, communication and partnership Visible contribution to the organisations values and architecture practice About You: You are an experienced Solution Architect with strong stakeholder skills who enjoys working in complex environments and translating strategy into practical designs. You are comfortable working across multiple architecture domains, can communicate clearly with both executives and technical teams, and you understand how to embed change management into technology initiatives. Must-Have Skills & Experience: Proven track record in business and solution architecture with enterprise-level thinking Experience working across modern cloud environments, SaaS and on-premise solutions Strong understanding of at least three architecture domains, ideally including data and security Ability to ensure designs follow best practices for cybersecurity and identity and access management Experience developing solution concepts, options analysis, functional models and Archimate-compliant models Hands-on experience in or with Agile and DevOps delivery environments Demonstrated ability to earn the trust of senior sponsors and build effective stakeholder partnerships Background in stakeholder engagement and change management, including business change planning and enablement Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to technical and non-technical audiences Tertiary qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Familiarity with architecture, project and change management methodologies such as TOGAF, Prince2, Agile, DevOps, Archimate and PROSCI or Agile Change Management Bonus Points For: Experience working in a modern architecture practice with clear frameworks, guardrails and tooling Experience with data-driven and event-driven architectures Strong experience with Microsoft collaboration toolsets such as Microsoft Teams and Azure DevOps Practical experience with cloud architectures across Azure, AWS and/or GCP Networking and cybersecurity architecture experience Exposure to AI and ML solutions and their architectural implications Familiarity with emerging technologies such as process automation, computer vision, IoT, AR/VR, digital twins or similar Software development experience or a solid understanding of software delivery lifecycles Business acumen and ability to link technology decisions to business value and outcomes Certifications or training in TOGAF, ITIL and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP or similar) Experience driving transformational and tactical change from opportunity identification through to measurable outcomes Why Join: Influence how emerging technologies such as AI, automation and advanced digital platforms are used to support an organisations growth, R&D and community impact.
