The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) is the Australian Government's primary authority on radiation protection and nuclear safety. The Monitoring and Networks Section is responsible for ARPANSA's laboratories, field measurement capabilities and networks that are required for the measurement of ionising and non-ionising radiation in people and the environment. The key duties of the position include In this role, you will work under limited direction and perform a range of complex tasks associated with managing projects, including the redevelopment of monitoring stations as part of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) International Monitoring System (IMS). The station infrastructure rebuilds are significant pieces of work which will be managed within ARPANSA's internal project management framework. You will be responsible for producing all the project documentation and working closely with the ARPANSA's technical team to deliver seamless upgrades to station infrastructure. You will also work closely with the Section Manager, developing contracts both with the CTBTO as well as other supporting organisations. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing reports as well as establishing and maintaining a high degree of documentation management and record keeping. You will be working as part of a small team, delivering high quality and timely data to the International Data Centre (IDC) as well as supporting other monitoring networks. Key accountabilities Under limited direction and using established principles, practices and procedures, undertake a range of complex tasks associated with the recapitalisation of Australia's CTBT air monitoring stations including: Developing project documentation. Developing financial contracts with stakeholders. Managing the project lifecycle using the appropriate tools. Oversee reporting to the CTBTO. Liaise with operational and technical staff from organisations contracted to assist with the running of the CTBT air monitoring stations. Manage all admin tasks associated with the operations of the CTBT stations. Assist with operational requirement associated with the section's other networks.
