The key duties of the position include The Role The Australian Hydrographic Office is seeking people who are passionate about marine and geospatial sciences, shipping and automation. As a Maritime Geospatial Analyst you will work within the Australian Hydrographic Office's team to ingest, manage and validate complex marine geospatial data and produce navigational products and services that will maintain safe trading routes and directly contribute to Australia's maritime interests. You will work with a range of geospatial software and systems to prepare and deliver reliable and timely products to mariners. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). About our Team The Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) is Australia's national authority responsible for producing nautical charts and other products and services in support of Australia's maritime interests and Defence operations, ensuring safety of navigation and protection of the marine environment. The AHO is technically focused with a range of subject matter expertise in marine data complexities. The team works together to combine a range of data sources, through validation, integration and quality control tasks then on to the production and dissemination of navigational products and web-services. Tasks are guided via work flow and Quality Management Systems to meet international and national standards and specifications.
