The key duties of the position include The Role The Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) is seeking people who are passionate about marine and geospatial sciences, shipping and automation. As a Maritime Geospatial Analyst you will be required to ingest, manage and validate marine geospatial data and produce navigational products and services that will maintain safe trading routes and directly contribute to Australia's maritime interests. You will work with a range of geospatial software and systems to prepare and deliver reliable and timely products to mariners. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). About our Team The AHO is Australia's national authority for producing nautical charts and related products and services that support maritime interests and Defence operations, ensuring safety of navigation and protection of the marine environment. Our technically focused team consists of subject matter experts in marine data who collaborate to bring together diverse data sources. Through rigorous validation, integration and quality control processes, they produce and deliver high-quality navigational products and web-services. Tasks follow defined workflow and Quality Management Systems to meet industry standards and specifications.
