Contract Duration: December 2025 – February 2026 (12 week contract minimum) Location: Sydney CBD (In office) Hours: Full-time preferred About the Opportunity Yegal is partnering with a leading insurance and financial services organisation to offer law students and graduates a unique paid placement as Claims Consultants . This role is ideal for students close to graduation or recent graduates who want to add corporate office experience to their CV. A claims role is also a strong alternative to unpaid volunteer legal work, as it provides practical experience in liability, dispute resolution, and stakeholder management while working in a professional commercial environment. Claims roles often serve as a bridge between university studies and longer-term opportunities in private practice or in-house legal teams. Your Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of insurance claims from lodgement through to resolution. Act as an advocate for clients throughout the claims process, ensuring professional and empathetic customer service. Interpret and apply policy wordings, terms, conditions, and exclusions. Ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and company service standards. Escalate and collaborate with senior staff on complex matters, with referrals made to external law firms where required. Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including service providers, insurers, and legal professionals. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate claim records.
