Why a Retail Manager is Required: Food Express requires a Retail Manager to oversee day-to-day retail operations, focusing on shopkeeping, stock control, and inventory management rather than assisting in the kitchen. Position Description: The Retail Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and high-quality customer experiences. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and executing strategies to boost sales, including upselling, cross-selling, and implementing innovative retail ideas. • Organising and coordinating supplier promotions to maximise sales potential. • Optimised store operations to maximise productivity and minimise costs. • Managing banking operations and cash flow, ensuring smooth financial transactions. • Monitoring sales performance and maintaining records of financial transactions • Implementing marketing policies and business improvement strategies • Managing budgets and preparing performance reports • Ensured exceptional customer service by fostering a positive shopping experience for every visitor. • Ensuring compliance with workplace, food safety, and occupational health and safety regulations • Supervising, training, and supporting staff to ensure a high-performing team • Supporting the overall growth, efficiency, and smooth operation of the business This role focuses primarily on retail operations, inventory management, and store organisation, rather than assisting in the kitchen, and is essential for maintaining high standards of service, presentation, and customer satisfaction. Required Qualifications: • Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Retail, or Hospitality Management, or at least three years of relevant managerial experience in a similar retail or food service environment. Relevant Skills and Experience: o Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in retail or hospitality management, preferably in a busy café, food outlet, or convenience store o Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff to achieve high standards of customer service and sales performance o Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills with experience managing multicultural teams o Excellent knowledge of inventory control, supplier coordination, and ordering procedures o Ability to plan rosters, manage payroll hours, and ensure compliance with Fair Work and WHS regulations o Experience in developing and implementing sales and promotional strategies to increase revenue and customer satisfaction o Proficient in using POS systems, handling daily cash balancing, and preparing financial and sales reports o Understanding of food safety standards, workplace health and safety policies, and company compliance procedures o Capability to maintain visual merchandising, cleanliness, and store presentation to company standards
