About the Role: North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) is seeking an experienced General Paediatrician to join the Mount Isa team. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in rural and remote paediatric healthcare, providing care to a diverse patient population, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You will provide inpatient, outpatient, and Level 4 neonatal care, participate in outreach and telehealth clinics, and contribute to teaching and training medical students and registrars. The role involves on-call duties and leadership in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality care across general paediatrics, community paediatrics, and neonatal services. Lead and mentor junior medical staff and registrars. Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and culturally safe care initiatives. Participate in outreach, telehealth, and remote clinical services. Engage in teaching and research opportunities in collaboration with James Cook University. About You: FRACP or equivalent, with current general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently in a rural setting. Commitment to culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Experience in teaching and mentoring is highly desirable.
